So today i've been thinking about the word and meaning of BALANCE in life. This is something that I really struggle with. I don't do a very good job of balancing life, relationships, people and other things, its for sure a big weakness. I decided that I would post something in the hopes that some of you would share your views, thoughts, questions, ideas, etc about balancing life. I thought it may be a interesting topic of discussion. I often do really well in different areas of life and fail in others all due to lack of "balance". For example one week I do a really nice job of accomplishing different things like housework that I want to but fail in organizing other areas of life. Does this make any sense at all to anyone or am I talking about crazy stuff here! Its a tough concept/feeling to explain so let me know if you don't get it. It was sort of a reflective thing I was thinking about and do on occasion so that's where this came from in case you were wondering!

Jason's grandma Carpenter is not doing well at all. She had a stroke last Thurs. He went to see her today in the nursing home where she is. It sounds like its not good at all. I feel really bad because he was really close to this grandma growing up. They certainly had a special bond that no everyone gets to have with their grandparent. I know its really tough on him. :-(

Kenedey gets to go on her field trip to Walker Tavern tomorrow. She is really excited about it. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Carson is really starting to throw temper tantrums. AHHHHHH! He is starting to arch himself back and yell when he doesnt get his way. Tonight he laid down on the floor face down on his belly and cried because he was told he couldn't play with the printer and bang on it! Ugh im afraid it might be a long road! Good times!

I just heard from my mom a little bit ago and she made it safely back to Florida and it sounds like as usual she hit the ground running. She is already out and about taking care of the houses. Crazy lady! Gotta love her!

So much to talk about!

I've been thinking all day about how i'm going to blog all the stuff that I want to get on here. It's been a busy/great Memorial Day weekend. Friday evening started out pretty calm. But Sat. morning we hung out at home, then got ready to go to Rayel (my cousin) open house. We went over there about 3 or so. Visited with people, saw family I haven't seen in awhile. aka my Grammy (moms mom)

We left there around 5 then came home to make a mad dash to get ready to drive down to Ohio to see my mom at their place there. I first need to say that I LOVE OHIO. Well at least the area where the home that they have is. It's called Bremen and it's just so quaint, relaxing and beautiful. My mom and I worked super hard on the house because they are trying to sell it. They don't make it up there enough to make it worth while for them to see having such a nice place they really can't enjoy. It's a great house to have kids at when they are young... lots of exploring to do and great places to play!

The most wonderful part about the whole trip was that I got to see my nephew's who I haven't seen in about 2 years. The understandably didn't know who I was, but it was awesome to see them. Their names are Harrison (4 1/2) and Henry (3 1/2). Two COMPLETELY different personalities! So fun! What I enjoyed most about Harrison is his silliness! The kid really enjoys being silly! He smiles a lot has a lot of personality to share and is really sweet for the most part. He was very nice with Carson and wanted to help him out when he could. Last night Harrison came inside the house while my mom and I were cleaning out the garage. Carson had a terrible time trying to go to sleep and cried for a long time before he actually fell asleep. This morning Harrison told me that he went in there with Carson to help calm him down, but it didn't help. I thought oh no wonder! Harri probably played with him for a bit and then left! Too cute. He meant well.

Henry is a whole nother story. He was very reserved and not too quick to be my friend! He came around over the next few hours after we got there and wanted me to snuggle with him to help him get to sleep, but he really likes my mom! He doesn't say much so he seems shy! He has this deep voice and kind of sweetly drags out his words... aww the cute guy! He is a total toe head with that blonde hair. He says he wants to be a hippy and grow it long. Cute! Henry

We had a decent drive down there and back. The traffic wasn't bad, but tons of Pigs (cops). I counted 28 on the way home. Those were just ones that had cars pulled over. Ugh. Carson stayed awake the entire ride down there (4 hours). Taylor Hutchinson came with us, and they were SO good. Her and Ken got along great and played well with all the boys. No behavior problems with the exception of Harrison punching Taylor in the chest. I still don't know why he did that. Must have gotten mad at her about something.

On Fri afternoon, I decided to cut Carson's hair. First let me say. I've decided I don't like it. Thank God he's a boy and it will grow back in just a few weeks. But I shaved it with a #3 guard the entire head. He looks older, the only good part is I know he has to be cooler! Some people said they liked it, probably lying! Others didn't say much. But tonight both Jason and I said we didn't like it. Guess we won't do that again! Oh well live and learn!

Once we got home tonight we went to the farm to visit my Grandma Grace and check in on her. Then we went over to the beach bar to get a quick dinner. The food sucked. Ken and I just had soup and salad, Jason had a ruben. Nothing about any of it was good. After we ate we went across the street to the beach on Clark Lake. Carson got in the water with Jason, he screamed, I'm sure it was FREEZING! He played on the beach in the sand! He really enjoys the sand. I only got one pic once we went outside because my battery died. It had been off the charger the entire weekend. Regardless it was cute!

I have more pics of the kids from the weekend to share, but ill do more tomorrow. Don't want to overwhelm you! I thoroughly enjoyed hanging with my mom as usual. I am so lucky to have such a great mom. She's just an incredible person in so many ways. How many people do you know that would take 5 kids on like that and just go with the flow. She doesn't even get stressed out with them. Carson alone was enough to drive me crazy! LOl Anyway it was a great weekend! Hope you all enjoyed yours too!

So I am more happy that it is Friday than I have been in a long time. This week felt like it took 7 years to get over! I think with all the recovery going on plus EVERYTHING else this week entailed it was a LONG one, however, it was rewarded with a 3 day weekend. Yay!

Well over the past few nights ive been busy still trying to be sure I rid the house and children of LICE! lol I believe we have been successful! I cant find any. I will treat her one more time on Monday night just to be safe.

Lindsey came over last night to hang out with us before she moves to Florida. Her friends that she was going to be living with have "bailed" on her and now they are'nt moving. Im so proud of her for handling it so well, and im sure it will work out well... none the less im sure it's still tough to have your plans all change that way. She will be living with my aunt Connie now and I think that will be awsome for both of them. I wish her the best. We had a nice time and went to visit Great Grandma Grace and then our other grandparents. Carson had an absolute blast playing outside at the farm with Kenedey and then in the sandbox for the first time and my grandparents. He did really well, he didnt even try to eat the sand. He just put it through his hands over and over! He was so good and played so hard. He was so dirty and needed a bath, but he fell asleep on the short ride home. I brought him in the house and he didnt even wake when I changed his diaper and clothes so I didnt have the heart to make him take a bath just cleaned him up and let him go to sleep! Us girls hung out and had some cookies and ice cream treat together. So it was all together enjoyable! I'm so glad she took the time to come hang out. I took some pics of them at the farm. My camera ended up dying when we got to my grandparents...BUMMER...so I would have taken many more but was'nt able to. I guess that's what I get for not charging it. It's charging now so I can use it tomorrow.

We have a busy but good weekend. Tonight we just stayed home and tried to relax. Kenedey went to Onsted Graduation with the Hutchinson's then Taylor came over to play for about an hour. Tomorrow we have my cousin Rayel's open house at 2, so we will just try to enjoy our morning at home. Then go party. Afterwards... my mom called today and said that they will be at their summer home in Ohio.. this was a surprise so me and the kids are going to go down there and hang out with the rents aka parents! Their place in Ohio is SO relaxing... it should be fun. Im really looking forward to it. We will come back on Monday afternoon. Jason has to work all weekend, so he will be gone anyway... might as well go see mom! yeah!

My neck is doing much better everyday. I am still taking Advil about twice a day just to keep it from throbbing. My mobility in it is improving daily too. Im hoping tonight I will be able to get a really good night's sleep. I am usually a excellent sleeper, but not since my surgery and the aftermath of that. My surgery sites are all healing so well and the "pulling sensation" when I lay down in my abdomen is almost gone. Another YEAH! So things are lookin up!

Enjoy the pics' I am continuing to experiment with the manual features on my camera. Do you think they are getting any better? I know its not the best camera, but before I invest in a SLR camera of some sort I want to see what I can learn. Have a wonderful Memorial weekend everyone! How do you like Car's glasses? He "borrowed" them from the neighbor girl! I thought they were pretty stylish! Also here is Kenedey being her silly self!

WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!

I promise this will be a much more happy post than the last few! Well we are officially infested with HEAD LICE... dun dun dun dunnnn.... I am SO frustrated and feel like the dirtiest people in town. I have treated Kenedey 2 different ways to make a long story short. Mayonaise is the best treatment per Dr. Tim at Jackson Peds. He doesnt even rx any meds for lice just put mayonaise on their heads and let it go. Do all the other usual stuff like wash EVERYTHING. Do the lice comb daily... repeat in a week. The way I have sprayed and washed and whatever else I can do I dont think there is a living lice around. I have worked my bootie off getting RID of this. Ill let you know how it goes.

Ken had her limo ride to Burger King today. She doesnt even act like she cares or that it was a big deal. I told her I would send J up to take some pics of her, but he told her he would wear his "red suit". So she was making sure this morning that he was NOT coming to take her picture with the limo! For those of you who dont know what the "red suit" is... ill let you in on our little secret. Jason has this one piece red outfit that is button up and has a poop shoot that he wears for hunting. It is the most ridiculous looking piece of "equipment" you have ever seen. Everytime Ken has a friend over or something big going on he tells her that he is so excited about it and that he will even wear his "red suit" for whatever the occasion may be. She gets all mad at him and begs him not to embarass her this way! He loves it that she feels so embarrased so the red suit will probably make it to the first date, prom, graduation! Well the threat of it will anyway! Good times! I wouldnt dare take a pic of the "red suit" and scare all of you so ill leave the hideous visual up to you!

Carson was a usual little terd tonight. He is walking more everyday and it is the funniest thing to see the balance well I should lack thereof! He dances everytime music comes on and right now his fav song is getcha head in the game from High School Musical *thanks for that Kenedey* His dancing is HILARIOUS!

Work is going good for me for those of you who are wondering. Dr. R has some of the neatest patients, thank god for them or im not sure I could stand to be there if we had awful patients. Im not crazy about the staff so the patients are my "friends". One of them sent me a card today letting me know she heard about my surgery and she was concerned that I went back to work too soon. Gosh so sweet, there are still some of these people around who care about more than just themselves. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness.

My fav show is over the BACHELOR :-( I watched the after the final rose show about it tonight. I think he picked the wrong girl. The one he didnt pick (bevin) has handled herself with such grace. I am impressed with her. I hope to god she finds the world's most amazing man! Good luck Bevin.

Anyway... well its midnight and I must head off to bed. Even though I dont really want to because ill think about lice until I fall asleep. Maybe ill go sleep in my car... they cant be there... or can they? NIGHTY nite! Dont let the bed bugs bit!!! AGH

Getting better

MY GUYS!

Well today was much better than yesterday without a doubt. I am SLOWLY perking up out of my narcotic induced coma. No all, i'm not a drug user at all! Thank God, however I do think that I overdosed on too much pain meds... particularly Vicoden yesterday. I hate that stuff and I swear to you ill never take it again. But im coming out of the coma slowly but surely. My neck pain is still there and at times severe, but right now the advil liquigels are soothing the pain. Dr. Robertson tried to manipulate my neck today without any success because it was so tight. I put hot packs on it for an hour over lunch and he tried again. No success again. Our PA put a lidoderm patch on my neck for me and that didn't stay on too well, but it was worth the try. Ok enough about that I swear to you, you will only have to listen to this for maybe another day or 2 at the most and then ill cut the part of my neck off that hurts! And we can be done with this crap! No I'm kidding but i sure hope it gets better fast.

Kenedey and Jason are at urgent care right now because Kenedey's head has been itching her since last week. Ugh I know made me think... NOT HEAD LICE... THE KID HAS MORE HAIR THAN FORTY PEOPLE WITH THIN HAIR... THAT WOULD BE A DISASTER. I check her head for a good hour last night and found NO BUGS. I washed it really good last night for her thinking maybe she just wasn't getting it clean, but that didn't help. She had the school nurse check her head at school today. They saw nothing there. Well this evening she still complained that her head is driving her crazy itching. So I said do you want to go have it checked I will make you an appointment and she said yes. This shocked me because all of you who know Kenedey know that she despises (sp) doctors. So to make a long story short Jason ran her into the after care to have it checked out. I'm waiting for them to come home.

Carson and I went outside to play at the little park tonight. He loves to swing and he did that and laughed the whole time. But he was really into the trucks in the dirt tonight! He was also climbing up and down the small divider to the grass and play area up and down the foot and a half divider. It was so cool to watch him climb. It really takes skill at 12 months and it always makes me so glad when he masters those tasks he should be. I was surprised he didn't go face first down it or something but he definitely knew what he was doing. He tried to eat a few rocks, but quickly spit them into his hand when I told him "yucky" and then gave them to me like it was a gift! What a goofball! I was too far from home to go grab my camera so no pics from tonight. I know I'm bummed too, but he was having such a good time I couldn't say hold on buddy we have to run inside so I can get my camera. Yeah he just wouldn't get it! He's such a fun little guy! We have so much fun with him, especially when he's not whining. Do you think they whine at this age just because they get bored sometimes. I think maybe its possible. I HATE whining! I know he does it when he's hungry and or tired too, but sometimes I think he just does it to do it! See this is how life is with this kid... I talk him all up one minute then complain the next! He keeps our heads spinning!

Lindsey my cousin called tonight, she is moving to Florida in I think 2 weeks. She is going to come down on Thurs and stay most of the weekend and hang out with us and just spend some time before she leaves to move. I'm really glad about it. Hopefully I can keep her entertained... well at least not too bored if you know what I mean. She's a college girl who's usually super busy and then she comes to hang out with us, she'll probably be like whoa this family is BORING... they do kid things, laundry, house cleaning, soccer practice's and games and more kid stuff all the time! Oh well shes flexible thank god! Maybe she will want to go for walks with us and to visit grandma grace, hang out with Jessica and stuff like that. Sat we have a graduation party so that will busy us too! I think her mom my aunt Angie is coming down too on Sat. YEAH! I love it when people come "home" to visit. It's pretty cool I live where most of the fam considers "home".

Yucky Day

Well today pretty much sucked. I got up with Carson when Jason went to work at 7 and we stayed up until 9. Then he went down for a morning nap. So I decided I would too. SIX HOURS later my cousin was in my room yelling at me to WAKE UP. My other cousin had been trying to get ahold of me all day (she had Kenedey). I never heard the phone, the neighborhood kids knocking on the door for Kenedey or my cousin come in to wake me up. Apparently most of my family was worried about me. Thank GOD they were and came to check on me. I first of all feel horrible because Carson was in bed for all those hours. I have NO IDEA if he woke up and cried or if he actually slept. I am generally a light sleeper especially when my kids are around. I think what happened is yesterday I took so many different pain meds trying to get rid of my neck pain and they just caught up to me. I could kick myself and I have HUGE mommy guilt because of Carson, everything logically says he was just fine and its possible that he actually slept most of the time, but I still feel like he was here in his bed all alone. Ugh... what an awful feeling. I have never had anything like this happen to me.

My neck is still super painful, I just wish my head would fall off then maybe it would feel better. Im annoyed because my house is pretty much a disaster area because I havent been up to tending to it since before my surgery. Jason is wiped out from starting a new job thats physical, so its 7pm and he's in bed. Im mad about that because seriously do you know how many times I wanted to come home from work and go to bed but didnt because my family needed me. Ugh. Married LIFE. I guess I just need to be understanding and remember it takes a lot out of you to start a new job. Yeah im not feelin it... sympathy that is! I said to him what the heck are you doing in bed, get up you wouldnt let me sleep after work. He said I didnt work as hard as him. Now thats messed up, thats when my sympathy went out the window.

Experiments with camera today

Well as usual another busy day! I went to work for a few hours this morning. I stopped at a few garage sales on my way there... then after work I picked up my great grandma who just got back from Florida and we went to kenedey's soccer game. Then we stopped at a few more garage sales and I bought a bread maker for 10 bucks. I have wanted one for awhile and I figured what the heck. Its in great shape the lady said she used it like once or twice! That might be all I use it but at least I only paid 10 for it!

We all took a little nap this afternoon until Jason got home from work... my neck is hurting me TERRIBLY. I can hardly do anything between that and my abdomen doing sore I feel worthless, but I will get depressed if I sit around so im bearing with the pain the best I can. We went over to my cousin Jessica's tonight so I could experiment with my camera some more and hang out too. I want to enter her daughter Lauren in Nicole's beautiful baby contest because I think the girl is GORGEOUS! So hopefully my pics turned out good enough for Nicole to see how cute Lauren really is. She is a busy girl so it was tough to capture what I wanted to get. So ill post some pics here for you to see. I also got some of Carson walking or at least trying to! He's SO close!

Im getting this!

So ive had some time today to sit and do my blog and mess with the options. I like this thing its so fun! I am recovering nicely. I am scheduled to work tomorrow for 2 hours in the morning so I am going to go ahead and go in, im just covering the front dest so it should be easy on the body. Im anxious to get back in the routine next week.

There are garage sales all over onsted this weekend, so I plan to drive around and check a few of them out. I cant think of anything I have to have, or need, but its always fun to go and look. So thats what ill do. Kenedey has a soccer game at 11:30 so ill be back for that. Kayla is going to watch the kids while I work in the morning. Jason started his new job today with the DNR. He has to work most weekends and has 2 days off during the week. We wont be able to go to the Tigers game that we have tickets for on June 10th because its a Sunday and he has to work. So if anyone is looking for tickets they include a chartered bus ride, game tickets and the casino all for 50 bucks per person. I really wish we were going but oh well such is life!

So Carson has decided that he is going to finally walk. He is getting more confident in himself and his balance. Its so cute to see him teeter all over the place like a little drunk man and then he falls on his buns! Ill get some pics of this posted soon!

Kenedey is having a girlfriend stay the night tonight. Her name is Hunter. Shes a nice girl im sure they will have fun together. I took them to get ice cream a little bit ago and Carson ate a little vanilla cone. He LOVES ice cream. yep he's my boy! Well thats all for the exciting life today! Chat soon!

Im home!

So for those of you who dont know... I havent posted in awhile because I had to go have my gall bladder out on a quick inpatient basis. I had it out yesterday around 4:30 and im recovering slowly but surely. I expected to feel wonderful right away and thats just not the case. Im really sore and this air they put inside of me has moved up to my shoulders and it HURTS. More than any of the incisions. Yuck. Dr. Prough did my surgery and I really liked him, he was a very calm person and I liked that. Im just glad its over... hopefully no more nausea, vomiting and all that good stuff I was having on a regular basis. Here are some lovely pictures for all of it to gross you all out.

Sleepy!

Whew! I made it through a whirlwind weekend again. We did the whole 1st birthday party thing, it couldnt have gone better. Carson did great and I think everyone had a good time chatting and watching him dive into his cake. Thank you to all of you for sharing our day with him and helping us celebrate another 1st moment! The weather was wonderful.

Today we went to the Golden Nugget for breakfast/brunch there were 11 of us so that was cool and of course the food was good. Then we left and went shopping for the afternoon in Ann Arbor, it was great to shop with Kenedey and my mom and cousin. We found some great deals Kohl's buy one get one free on EVERYTHING we bought. I love bargains! I got 2 cute sandals at DSW... my mom spoiled us. She is so generous. I cant tell you how much I miss her and appreciate her. I love spending time with her and I never feel like there is enough time. She's so busy! But at least I get to see her pretty often, could be worse.

I am so tired tonight. I tried to nap in the car to and from Ann Arbor, not too much luck with that! Such is life. :-)

So my house is being taken over by all of Carson's toys he got for his bday! He got some really cool stuff, but the kid is OBSESSED with anything with wheels, but particularly his new monster truck. He got one of those leap frog dogs from us that sings and all kinds of stuff and he was playing with it tonight on the floor and he was dancing and interacting with it! It was sooo cute! Gosh he's getting so animated these days. I love that kids personality!

Kenedey is also exhaused tonight. She had fun today at Briarwood. Jessi and my mom dropped Kenedey and I off at Briarwood Mall and we went in to shop at Claire's just her and I. She got 6 pairs of new earrings.. this is her new thing! They had the buy 2 get 1 free so another good deal there. But she got some cute ones and she was so fun and excited about it! We stopped into the Coach purse store... gosh its a good thing im poor or that would be a dangerous place. That stuff is so nice. I think I liked nearly ALL the purses in there and wallets and shoes. It's like yeah ill take 1 of everything please! The lady working in the store was really nice and gave Ken lots of attention so she thought it was neat we tried a bunch of purses out! Ahhh Kenedey already likes Coach she better get a good education and job so she can support her taste someday! She's like her nannie! At least she doesnt like Goth or something gross like that! She's still my girly girl! She had to get a dress at Old Navy! Thats my girl! She has her Jog-a-thon tomorrow at school. She has to go jog for everyone that sponsered her and earn her ride in the limo to Burger King! Good stuff!

Ok so I thought id never make it back here again! I have been so busy this week! But hey its cool I like being busy sometimes! I think I can live on 6 hours of sleep now..... its cool I used to have to have like 8 or 9!

So Kenedey and I went to the capital of Michigan field trip today. It was such a good time. I sat by another mom on the bus both on the way there and on the way back and had really good conversation both ways. I really enjoyed it.

The capital was really neat. I am such a visual person so it helps to see where all these things take place. Got to see where the Governor's office is... the whole place is hand painted walls and all with faux paiting... impressive. When I asked Kenedey what was her fav. thing about the capital building she just said it was boring... I guess it would be to a 10 year old who doesnt care much about politics. We also visited the museum her favorite thing was the 1 room school house room and then she didnt like the wreath made of hair... I thought it was awsome it looked like pine cones you would have never known it was made of hair.

Anyway.. more to tell, but ill write more later gotta go to adrian at 11:30 at night to Meijers just call me crazy!

Yeah my first blog!

So I decided to do this based on what a lot of my acquantences are doing! I really dont enjoy talking on the phone too much once I am home from work... im on the stupid thing all darn day at work... I also enjoy writing so I thought this would be fun.

So today was a pretty good day... ok this is feeling like a dear diary thing! LOL

Wednesday's are my long day at work... I really feel like I live there (work) monday through Wed and then Thurs afternoons I get a break. I tell myself every week just make it through Wed and its smooth sailing after that! So anyway I got home after sitting in a traffic jam due to construction and met my family at the soccer fields down the road so that Kenedey could have her practice! She did really well. I am so proud everytime I see her out there, no shes not the most aggressive thing out there, but from where she was a few years ago with her shyness and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis to see her out there warms my heart. Its so cool to see her grow and overcome all that she has. Shes a little trooper and has such a sweet spirit. I dont ever want her to loose that, I dont think she will!

So we did the soccer thing... came home Jason went to get groceries and I bathed Carson we had a super late dinner at like 8:15 thats just how it goes sometimes on Wed. We all hate it, but what are ya gonna do!

Tomorrow I only have a half day at work as I said before and then im off until Monday... YEAH!! Kenedey has a field trip with school that I am going with her to. We will be visiting the capital in Lansing... ugh the bus ride there should be WONDERFUL! Oh well I love talking to all the kids and getting to know them more. Its fun! I will take my camera and share some pictures with you!

I am so glad that the end of the school year is in sight for Kenedey and us too! Its been a tough year. She has a really tough teacher who expects a lot out of her students. Dont get me wrong thats not a bad thing at all. Ken has come a long way and learned soooo much, not just academically but also to push herself a bit harder. I feel bad for her sometimes because the mommy in me wants her to be able to enjoy herself and her childhood all the time, but these years are so important in establishing routines and academic qualities at school and expectations for your kids. I get all that and im cool with it but its time for a little break and thank god for summer!

This weekend will be really busy... we are having Carson's birthday party on Sat and my mom is coming into town on Friday night. Im trying hard to get all that stuff done and in order so im not rushing all weekend... the house, laundry, party planning etc. Then on Sunday we are going to the Golden Nugget for Mother's Day brunch and then to that exibit thing in Detroit on the human body... dont know much about it, but it should be fun!

Well I guess thats it for my first blog. Let me know how I did! LOL
